Almost 4 months old!

Logan is coming up on 4 months old in a week.  The last two weeks have been full of changes.  Last week he started reaching for toys that hang overhead. He manipulates the hanging animals on his bouncer which make a monkey and a frog dance to music while lights create a waterfall every time he pushes one of the toys.  Now if you put a rattle in front of him he'll reach out to take it.  Of course, the first place it goes is right into his mouth.  His hands enthrall him.  As he brings his hands or a toy to his mouth he goes cross eyed looking at his hands.

 

A big milestone occurred on the 16th - Logan rolled over twice.  Of course, Dad was at work and missed it and Logan does not perform on demand. 

Logan is beginning to exercise free agency.  When he's finished eating, he has begun to purse his lips so that you can't get the bottle in his mouth.  The pursed lips and the thrashing head are good signs that he doesn't want to eat any more. 

Logan's going through a new sleep phase.  He's beginning to take fewer, longer naps.  He's outgrowing his Miracle Blanket which is really sad.  Hopefully we'll be posting soon video of wrapping Logan in his Miracle Blanket.  He's started lifting his legs up high and then slamming them down hard on the bed, over and over again until his blanket is loosened enough that he can lift his hands up.  Now, mind you, he does this while he's sleeping so once his hands start to rub his face, he wakes himself up.  Fortunately, all it requires is to wrap him back up and he's instantly back to sleep.

So, we thought he was talking a lot before.  Now it's constant, and loud.  It's really quite cute.  His laugh is one big long shriek. 

A fun package showed up this week from France that Logan's Mom and Dad were more excited to play with than he is right now.  Cache's host family from France, Daniel and Dominique Pic gave Logan several Sophie la Giraffe bath toys, a Babar stuffed elephant, and three Babar books.  These are toys that are popular in France.  Cache particularly loved the Sophie boat and the Sophie Island.  Now with some kids books in French Cache can keep practicing French and try to teach Logan a few words.  Thank you to the Pics.
